A CHOICE FOR WHEN YOU HAVE NONE!

Our Housing Goal

We are trying to raise $15,000 so we can make this unit with in the next year. This will allow us to house Men that have no place to go so that they can rebuild there life without having to live on the streets. With your support and donations we can make this a reality.

MEN FALL VICTIM TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE EVERY YEAR.

THE Office for National Statistics figures (2022/23) show that one in three victims of domestic abuse are male equating to 751,000 men

Men suffer in silence for a number of reasons, making them less likely to report the abuse. Men may be embarrassed or think they can handle the abuse. Some male victims also fear they be ridiculed for admitting their female or male partner has abused them. A man who calls the police to report domestic is three times more likely to be arrested than the woman.

Only 4 shelters in all of North America

There are over 2000 domestic shelters in the US for women and 4,064 for Animals. But only 4 for men in all of North America

Domestic violence shelters are strongly associated with the movement to protect abused women. While hundreds of thousands of men per year are victims of serious domestic violence, gender stereotyping has prevailed for decades in public discussion of domestic violence. Almost no domestic violence shelters have been created for men. Domestic violence shelters in practice provide separate and unequal victims services for women and men.  (https://www.acrosswalls.org/statistics/history-domestic-violence-shelters/)

483,000 men and 964,000 women are victims of partner abuse. (ONS 2022/23). One in seven men (13.9%) and one in four women (27%) will be a victim of domestic abuse in their lifetime (ONS figures 2022/23).

With no place to go Men must choose to stay with the partner or live on the streets.

60% of victims of intimate partner violence lose their jobs due to reasons stemming from the abuse.

Those experiencing DV sometimes stay with their abuser because they are financially dependent upon them; leaving an abusive relationship may involve a “choice” between remaining with an abuser and falling into poverty and/or homelessness.
